    Visually Impaired Citizens Stage Protest

    Monrovia-October 22, 2025: A bunch of visually impaired residents on Tuesday staged a peaceable protest on the grounds of the Govt Mansion calling for the speedy dismissal of Mr. Samuel Dean, Govt Director of the Nationwide Fee on Disabilities.

    The protesters led by Spokesperson Lousine Kamara, accused Mr. Dean of mismanaging funds meant to empower individuals with disabilities. In keeping with him, President Joseph N. Boakai not too long ago supplied US$200,000 to help employment initiatives for folks dwelling with disabilities, however they alleged that the LNCOD boss diverted the cash to buy a private car as a substitute.

    Chanting slogans and carrying placards, the demonstrators demanded better accountability and transparency inside the Fee. “The place is the cash that was given by Orange Liberia? We wish the complete quantity,” one protester shouted referring to a separate donation reportedly made to help incapacity applications.

    One other protester expressed frustration over what they described as continued authorities neglect. “President Boakai got here and noticed us proper on the gate, however he didn’t even cease to speak to us. Since this morning, no one has come to verify on us,” the protester lamented.

    The demonstrators vowed to proceed their protest till President Boakai takes decisive motion in opposition to the present management of LNCOD which they declare has didn’t successfully advocate for or enhance the welfare of individuals with disabilities within the nation.

    In the meantime, the Assistant Minister for City Affairs on the Ministry of Inside Affairs, Mark Jabateh assured the protesters that the federal government will tackle their issues in due time. He furthered urged them to train endurance and belief the President to work on their behalf.
