MONROVIA–The Liberia Nationwide Police Thursday questioned the pinnacle of Solidarity and Belief for a New Day (STAND) Mulbah Morlu after he heeded their invitation Thursday afternoon according to the violence that marred Wednesday’s ‘Lead or Go away” Protest.

Morlu himself drove to the LNP headquarters for questioning in relation to the ugly scenes that characterised the protest he organized and led.

The LNP had invited Morlu and others they mentioned have been individuals of curiosity following Wednesday’s “Lead of Go away” Protest which later took violent posture and left properties broken.

The LNP has drawn its consideration to the play-out of the protest, saying whereas it acknowledges the constitutional proper of all residents to peaceable meeting and expression and reiterates its dedication to facilitating lawful protests in a way that protects public security and democratic freedoms.

It condemned the acts of violence that occurred throughout Wednesday’s protest, which undermined public order, endangered lives and property, and diverted the protest from its lawful and peaceable goal. Violence, intimidation, and destruction of property are inconsistent with democratic engagement and won’t be tolerated.

An announcement signed by DCP Cecelia G. Clarke, Spokesperson of the Liberia Nationwide Police quoted the LNP as noting, “As a part of knowledgeable, evidence-based, and neutral investigation, the Liberia Nationwide Police has recognized Mr. Mulbah Morlu, Mr. Alvin Wesseh and Archie Pompom as individuals of curiosity in relation to the violent incidents. The LNP respectfully requests that these people report back to the Central Police Headquarters in Monrovia to help with the continuing investigation.

Failure to adjust to this lawful request will compel the Liberia Nationwide Police to train its statutory authority to impact arrest, in step with due course of and the legal guidelines of the Republic of Liberia.

The Liberia Nationwide Police reassures the general public that this matter is being dealt with with restraint, proportionality, and respect for human rights, broader institutional dedication to accountability, transparency, and group belief.

The LNP calls on all residents, organizers, and stakeholders to proceed participating peacefully and responsibly, particularly throughout this festive season, because the Police work to make sure a protected, safe, and secure atmosphere for all.
