A SkyWest flight landed in Cedar Rapids, Michigan, on Thursday night as a result of an unruly passenger, in response to authorities.
The FAA mentioned SkyWest flight 3612 landed at Japanese Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids Thursday night, “after the crew reported a passenger disturbance.” The flight was met by regulation enforcement officers upon touchdown and the passenger was arrested and transported to Linn County Correctional Heart.
The arrested passenger has been recognized as 23-year outdated Mario Nikprelaj from Nebraska by the Cedar Rapids Police Division.
Nikprelaj is going through expenses of disorderly conduct, assault, possession of prescription medicine, tax stamp and harassment within the first diploma. He may face further expenses pending additional investigation, per the police division.
On air site visitors management audio, the pilot could be heard saying that the passenger was “in a combat with a flight attendant proper now, making an attempt to open the emergency exit.”
The flight departed from Omaha, Nebraska, and was initially headed to Detroit with 67 passengers and 4 crew members onboard.
The flight later departed Cedar Rapids and continued to its vacation spot, SkyWest confirmed to ABC.
The investigation into the incident is presently ongoing.
