    Over one thousand school going-kinds at risk

    Tubmanburg Metropolis, Bomi County, January 26, 2026: Over one thousand school-going youngsters’s futures are at the moment unsure following the fast closure and switch of the Bomi Junior Excessive Faculty to the C.H Dewey auditorium because of the dilapidated and deplorable situation of the college facility.

    The closure of the college was raised by Bomi County Senator, Edwin Melvin Snowe, who described the scenario as troubling and embarrassing.

    Talking over the weekend in the course of the Senate plenary, Senator Snowe drew his colleagues’ consideration to the deplorable situation of the college and its fast closure, whereas urging the Senate Committee on Training, Methods, Means, Finance, and Funds to intervene.

    ” I hope the Training Committee will hearken to this. The Bomi Junior Excessive Faculty, the federal government Junior Excessive Faculty in Bomi County, is at the moment shut down and transferred to the C. H Dewey Excessive Faculty, borrowing the auditorium from C.H Dewey Excessive Faculty as a result of the college is in a dilapidated and deplorable situation. There are not any roofs, home windows, or chairs within the faculty. They’re all damaged and destroyed. Our kids must stroll a distance to achieve the C.H. Dewey Excessive Faculty auditorium to attend courses. Some who should not financially potent have already dropped out of college, whereas some are pregnant.” He added.

    He reiterated his name for the committee’s intervention, arguing that it’s fairly embarrassing and troubling {that a} faculty subsequent door to Monrovia will probably be in such a deplorable situation and must transfer its operations to the C. H. Dewey Excessive Faculty auditorium.

    In the meantime, Senator Snowe additionally raised payroll points, notably civil servants’ salaries, noting that the Ministry of Finance has stated the bottom wage for civil servants is US$150.
