    NEC extends Electoral Reform consultation in Maryland.

    Harper, Maryland County, November 12, 2025: The Nationwide Elections Fee (NEC) has prolonged its County-to-County Electoral Legislation Reform session to Maryland County, weeks after it launched this system in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

    The extension of the electoral legislation reform session in Maryland is a part of its ongoing nationwide engagement to strengthen Liberia’s electoral framework.

    The Southeast session was held on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Harper, Maryland County, and introduced collectively the Head of the NEC’s Authorized Part, Cllr. Teage Jalloh, and the Deputy Govt Director for Packages, Mr. Ignatius B. Wisseh, alongside Maryland Election Magistrates and different NEC employees, Elders, CSO, Ladies, Youths, individuals residing with incapacity, and native authorities.

    Talking on the session, NEC Deputy Govt Director for Packages, Mr. Ignatius B. Wisseh, described the reform session as an necessary partnership between the Fee and its various electoral stakeholders.

    He emphasised that the session presents a singular alternative for all stakeholders, together with voters, political aspirants, and candidates, to make significant contributions to shaping Liberia’s subsequent electoral legal guidelines.

     He maintains that the present electoral legal guidelines establish present challenges and suggest sensible options that can enhance the nation’s electoral processes.

    NEC Deputy Govt Director for Packages additional cautioned residents and contributors to make use of the gathering to deal with the electoral points inside the Nation.

    Talking on behalf of UNDP-Liberia, Chief Ressovert described the reform session as a constructive platform for collaboration between the NEC and stakeholders, designed to collect various suggestions and views to tell the reform course of.

    He identified that, though it’s belated — for the reason that session ought to’ve been held simply after the 2023 election — it’s essential that residents have their say on these points.
