A Washington, D.C., man was charged with assaulting a federal officer after he allegedly threw a sandwich at a Customs and Border Safety (CBP) agent throughout a confrontation this week, in accordance with court docket paperwork.
Sean Charles Dunn faces federal costs for allegedly throwing a sub-style sandwich at a CBP agent who was patrolling with Metro Transit Police in Northwest Washington round 11 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the criminal complaint, Dunn approached the officer whereas shouting “f— you! You f—— fascists! Why are you right here? I do not need you in my metropolis!”
After a number of minutes of confrontation, Dunn threw the sandwich, hanging the officer within the chest, the grievance says. The alleged incident was apparently captured in a video posted to Instagram.
Authorities say that after making an attempt to flee, Dunn was apprehended and later admitted to the incident whereas being processed on the police station, allegedly telling an officer, “I did it. I threw the sandwich.”

The incident comes amid heightened tensions over federal regulation enforcement presence within the District. President Donald Trump not too long ago introduced plans to deploy Nationwide Guard troops in Washington, D.C., declaring a public security emergency and placing the Metropolitan Police Division underneath partial federal oversight for 30 days.
District Council member Brooke Pinto, who chairs the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Security, expressed concern in regards to the elevated federal presence.
“It paints an image of a metropolis that’s not my very own and isn’t the expertise of the overwhelming majority of District residents and guests,” Pinto advised ABC Information.
Whereas Trump has cited rising crime as justification for federal intervention, police statistics present violent crime has really decreased.
