Los Angeles County officers voted on Tuesday to declare a state of emergency over ongoing federal immigration raids.
The proclamation offers the county the facility to help residents they are saying have been impacted financially by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) motion.
The declaration was launched by County Supervisors Lindsey P. Horvath and Janice Hahn and handed by a 4-1 vote, with Supervisor Kathryn Barger opposing.
Los Angeles County is dwelling to over 3 million immigrants, in accordance with supervisors, who mentioned the ICE raids have “brought about widespread worry” and led to “decreased attendance at workplaces, disruption of native economies, and pressure on crucial providers resembling faculties, hospitals, and locations of worship.”
