Monrovia – The Ebenezer Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, and Liberia’s Historic Windfall Baptist Church in Monrovia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed toward strengthening their long-standing sisterly church relations.

Ebenezer Baptist Church is likely one of the most famed Black church buildings within the U.S., internationally acknowledged because the religious dwelling of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the place he preached and served as co-pastor together with his father.
Windfall Baptist Church holds an equally historic place in Liberia, serving as the location the place the nation’s Declaration of Independence was signed in 1847 by freed African-American settlers.
Each church buildings share a legacy of advancing freedom, justice, and identification: Ebenezer as a religious base of the U.S. Civil Rights Motion, and Windfall as a basis of Liberia’s statehood and self-governance.
Forward of the signing, U.S. Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock—who serves as Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church—delivered a sermon at Windfall Baptist Church. Following the MOU, Rev. Warnock and Rev. Samuel Reeves, Pastor of Windfall, exchanged symbolic presents.

“On behalf of Ebenezer Baptist Church, I current this token to the pastor and the individuals of Windfall Baptist Church,” Sen. Rev. Warnock stated, unveiling an inventive print that includes each pastors and the historic church buildings.
Rev. Reeves, receiving the reward, praised the art work as “the most effective printing on the planet,” emphasizing the deep historic bond between the 2 church buildings.
“On behalf of Windfall Baptist Church, it’s our nice honor and privilege to obtain this. It represents our partnership, our relationship that spans over 200 years. This second is a testomony to the journey that brings us collectively at the moment,” Rev. Reeves stated.
