    Liberia: STAND Chairman Warns Against Alleged Government Plot to Provoke Violence at Peaceful Protests

    Monrovia — The Chairman of the Solidarity and Belief for a New Day (STAND), Mulbah Morlu, has warned of what he described as a possible try by parts throughout the authorities to impress violence throughout ongoing peaceable protests.

    In a press release posted on his official Fb web page, Morlu mentioned that whereas sustaining peace is a collective nationwide duty, the constitutional obligation to make sure legislation and order rests with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

    In line with the assertion, STAND has obtained what Morlu described as credible data suggesting that people sympathetic to the present administration could also be infiltrating protest actions in an effort to instigate unrest and discredit the demonstrations.

    Morlu known as on worldwide companions and members of the diplomatic neighborhood to urgently have interaction the Liberian authorities and warning towards any actions that would undermine public order and democratic expression.

    He warned that any escalation of violence could be the duty of the federal government.

    Reaffirming STAND’s place, the assertion emphasised the group’s dedication to nonviolence, noting that its members stay peaceable, disciplined, and resolute as they proceed to train their constitutional rights.
