    Liberia: Seven Lawmakers Summoned by Police Over Capitol Building Arson Investigation

    Monrovia – The Liberia Nationwide Police (LNP) has summoned seven members of the Home of Representatives for questioning in reference to the current arson assault on the Capitol Constructing.

    The lawmakers — Representatives Jonathan Fonati Koffa, Prescillia Cooper, Dixon Seboe, Marvin Cole, Jacob Debee, Frank Saah Foko, and Abu Kamara— are anticipated to seem at LNP headquarters on Friday, June 6. They’ve been named “individuals of curiosity” within the ongoing investigation.

    The police invitation was communicated to the Home of Representatives in a proper letter from Police Inspector Common Gregory Coleman. The letter was learn throughout Thursday’s common session by Chief Clerk Mildred Siryon.

    Particulars surrounding the lawmakers’ alleged connection to the incident haven’t been made public. Nevertheless, police sources say the transfer is a part of an investigation to find out the circumstances and potential instigators of the fireplace that broken sections of the Capitol Constructing final week.

    Regulation enforcement authorities haven’t disclosed whether or not any of the lawmakers face fees at the moment. The Capitol fireplace, which broke out underneath suspicious circumstances, has prompted widespread concern over safety at Liberia’s most vital legislative facility.
