    Liberia: “Generator Eating More Than Us” – Protesters Decry Hardship, Accuse Boakai Government of Wasteful Spending

    Monrovia – The streets of Monrovia erupted Thursday with chants, resistance songs, and uncooked emotion as 1000’s of protesters intensified their calls for for change beneath the Boakai-Koung administration.     “Boakai is a political BM. He doesn’t respect the Structure!” shouted one protester, utilizing the time period BM—brief for “Black Cash”—which on this context refers to unchecked, opaque governance and alleged misuse of public funds.

    The protests, organized beneath the “Sufficient is Sufficient” motion, mirrored rising frustration with skyrocketing costs, joblessness, and what many described as a obvious disconnect between the federal government and the individuals.

    “It’s About Justice, Not Politics”

    Philo Koffa, a human rights advocate who joined the protest, stated the demonstrations transcend occasion traces.

    “This isn’t about CDC or ANC — that is in regards to the rule of regulation and human dignity,” she declared.

    One other protester, who recognized himself as “SunnyBoy,” criticized the administration’s priorities.

    First Main Protest of the Boakai Period
