    Liberia, Cyprus Universities Move Toward Academic Partnership as Ambassador Yorlay Meets UCy Rector

    Nicosia, Cyprus — The College of Cyprus has opened talks with Liberia aimed toward advancing larger schooling cooperation, following a high-level assembly between Liberia’s Ambassador to Cyprus, His Excellency Teeko T. Yorlay, and the College’s Rector, Professor Tasos Christofides.

    The assembly, held on the Rector’s Workplace within the College Home “Anastasios G. Leventis” in Aglantzia, targeted on prospects for tutorial collaboration, scholar mobility, and institutional partnerships between the College of Cyprus and Liberian universities.

    Contemporary from presenting his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Ambassador Yorlay initiated discussions on establishing formal cooperation frameworks that may permit certified Liberian college students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate research in Cyprus.

    Professor Christofides welcomed the initiative, reaffirming the College of Cyprus’ dedication to increasing worldwide partnerships and enhancing entry to high quality larger schooling. He famous the establishment’s openness to admitting college students from Africa, significantly Liberia, into its tutorial programmes.

    The Ambassador additional proposed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the College of Cyprus and the College of Liberia, in addition to different larger schooling establishments in Liberia. In response, Professor Christofides highlighted the College’s present worldwide collaborations, together with partnerships with the College of Cairo, Alexandria College, and universities in South Africa and Tanzania.

    Ambassador Yorlay requested the swift preparation of a draft MoU. Ms. Elena Avgoustidou-Kyriacou, Director of the Worldwide Relations Service, dedicated to offering a draft settlement together with an in depth presentation of the College’s tutorial choices and alternatives.

    “The College of Cyprus values worldwide partnerships that promote tutorial excellence, cultural trade, and alternatives for college kids,” Professor Christofides mentioned. “We look ahead to exploring areas of cooperation of mutual curiosity.”

    The engagement adopted preliminary consultations with the College’s Worldwide Relations Workplace and marks an preliminary step towards strengthening instructional ties between Cyprus and Liberia. Ambassador Yorlay was accompanied by Mr. Aaron T. Guanue, First Secretary and Consul on the Embassy of Liberia.
