    Liberia: Civil Law Court Summoned Police Chief Coleman for Contempt

    Monrovia – Decide Peter W. Gbeneweleh of the Civil Legislation Courtroom “Annex” of the Sixth Judicial Circuit on the Temple of Justice has issued a Writ of Summons towards  Colonel Gregory Coleman, Inspector Common of the Liberia Nationwide Police, together with all officers appearing beneath his authority, for alleged contempt of courtroom.

    The summons, issued on October 23 by order of Decide Peter W. Gbeneweleh and signed by Clerk of Courtroom Alfred N. Morris, requires the respondents to look earlier than the courtroom on Monday, October 27, at 3:30 p.m. to elucidate why they shouldn’t be held in contempt. 

    This authorized motion follows the respondents’ failure to attend a scheduled convention listening to on October 22. The listening to was supposed to handle the enforcement of a Supreme Courtroom mandate in a protracted ejectment dispute.

    Earlier correspondence from the Clerk of Courtroom dated October 16 had notified Inspector Common Coleman of the convention aimed toward discussing the implementation of the excessive courtroom’s ruling within the case involving:

    The Intestate Property of the Late Batune Keita, administered by Mohammed Tanja Keita, towards the Intestate Property of the Late Mamadee M. Kamara, represented by Administratrix Mateya M. Toure.

    The Supreme Courtroom upheld the decrease courtroom’s judgment ordering the appellants to be faraway from the disputed property and granting possession to Mr. Keita according to the boundaries outlined in his deed.

    Officers say the contempt proceedings search to implement compliance with the courtroom’s directive amid reported delays by related authorities.
