    Liberia: CDC Expels Senator Pennue, Cllr. Gbala and Rep. Weah Over Alleged Disloyalty

    Monrovia – The opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has introduced the quick expulsion of Senator Zoe E. Pennue, Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala, and Consultant Samson Weah of Sinoe County District Two, accusing them of disloyalty and collaboration with the ruling Unity Social gathering.

    In a press release issued Monday, the CDC stated the expulsions adopted what it described as practically 18 months of conduct by the three officers that violated a number of provisions of the social gathering’s Structure and Bylaws, together with Sections 38, 39, 41(A), 42, 44, 45, 46, and 47.

    Based on the CDC, Part 47 of its Structure gives that social gathering membership could stop via written or verbal withdrawal, constructive withdrawal by overtly declaring loyalty to a different political social gathering, expulsion endorsed by the Nationwide Government Committee (NEC), or demise.

    The social gathering stated the expelled members had used public platforms to criticize and denigrate the CDC whereas aligning themselves with the Unity Social gathering-led authorities, which it accused of failing to uphold the rules of fine governance.

    “The CDC doesn’t condone such actions and affirms that these people are not affiliated with the social gathering,” the assertion stated.

    The opposition social gathering warned the general public towards participating with the expelled officers within the identify of the CDC, stating that anybody doing enterprise with them beneath the social gathering’s banner does so “at their very own threat.”

    The assertion, signed by Atty. Janga A. Kowo, Nationwide Chairman of the CDC, described the expulsions as a sign to different social gathering members and a measure to guard the social gathering’s integrity because it repositions itself for the 2029 elections.

    The CDC reaffirmed its dedication to what it referred to as its people-centered rules and vowed to proceed organizing to “unseat the Unity Social gathering authorities” within the subsequent common elections.
