    Liberia: Businessman Loses Over $83K in Devastating Pleebo Fire, Appeals for Urgent Aid

    Within the absence of a hearth service in Pleebo, residents have been left to combat the blaze utilizing solely buckets of water and sand — efforts that proved futile.

    Pleebo,   Maryland County —    An area businessman, Gyude Morgan, has appealed for pressing humanitarian help after a devastating hearth in Pleebo’s Zone 4 Neighborhood worn out his dwelling, storage models and merchandise valued at over US$83,000.

    The incident occurred through the afternoon hours on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

    Morgan, a father of 9, stated the incident occurred whereas he was away on his farm. “I’ve misplaced every little thing I labored for,” he stated in a sorrowful tone.

    “My youngsters rely upon me for his or her schooling and survival. Now, I have no idea the place to start once more. I’m interesting to humanitarian teams and good-spirited folks to come back to our rescue.”

    In accordance with eyewitnesses, the hearth started in a close-by mud home and quickly unfold to Morgan’s property. Within the absence of a hearth service in Pleebo, residents have been left to combat the blaze utilizing solely buckets of water and sand — efforts that proved futile.

     “We tried, however there was nothing we might do,” Hendrick Davis, a resident, recounted. “We had no hearth truck, nothing. No even the Hearth service. We simply watched the hearth destroy every little thing.”

     Morgan’s property, which included eight rooms, two storage services and a small condominium, was fully consumed by the hearth. The location served not simply as a household dwelling but in addition as the middle of his retail enterprise, which supported his family.

     “Six of my youngsters are nonetheless in class and three simply completed highschool. Every thing was in that home — their uniforms, books, my items, our future. All gone,” Morgan added.

    Neighbors expressed deep sympathy for the household. “This hearth has left Mr. Morgan and his youngsters in a really determined situation,” Endurance Hinneh, a neighbor, shared. “He wants the assistance of everybody, as a result of this was his life’s funding.”

     Whereas neighborhood members are providing ethical assist and restricted materials support, Morgan’s wants far exceed what residents can present. He’s now searching for assist to rebuild, feed his household, and preserve his youngsters in class.

     In the meantime, authorities are but to ascertain the reason for the hearth.
