    “Then there was silence,” Bolano wrote.

    Santo Jesus Flores, one other detainee, mentioned he heard a “wrestle ensue” that gave the impression of “the slamming of an individual’s physique towards the ground or the wall” after Campos requested for his remedy.

    “I heard Geraldo scream that he couldn’t breathe,” Flores mentioned. “I may hear them attempting to revive him, however they might not maintain him alive.”

    A DHS spokesperson didn’t reply to a request for remark from ABC Information concerning the detainees’ sworn declarations.

    In accordance with DHS, Campos was detained in July throughout an immigration enforcement motion in New York. He had prior convictions together with sexual contact with a minor and prison possession of a weapon, in keeping with the DHS and courtroom data. 

    In an announcement launched following his loss of life, a DHS spokesperson mentioned Campos was pronounced useless after “experiencing medical misery.”
