Ms. Georgina C. Coker, Undertaking Coordinator at CDG, defined that the IEC signposts function clear public guides to the 27 authorities providers provided on the county stage.

Kakata, Margibi County – The Governance CSO Consortium, by the Heart for Democratic Governance (CDG), has put in Info, Training, and Communication (IEC) signposts in key areas throughout Margibi County to enhance public entry to authorities providers and strengthen political governance and accountability in Liberia.

The initiative, a part of the venture “Strengthening Political Governance and Accountability in Liberia,” funded by the Authorities and folks of Eire by way of the Embassy of Eire in Monrovia, goals to cut back the necessity for residents to journey to Monrovia for fundamental authorities providers by informing them concerning the providers out there domestically on the Margibi County Service Heart.

The venture is applied by CDG in partnership with Naymote-Companions for Democratic Improvement (Naymote-PADD) and the Heart for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL).

Ms. Georgina C. Coker, Undertaking Coordinator at CDG, defined that the IEC signposts function clear public guides to the 27 authorities providers provided on the county stage. “This initiative brings authorities nearer to the individuals. By giving residents seen, dependable entry to data, we’re narrowing the hole in public consciousness, encouraging transparency, and selling citizen empowerment,” she stated.

The signposts have been positioned in Kakata Metropolis, Marshall Metropolis, and Weala in Cinta Township. They record providers akin to marriage certificates, enterprise registrations, delivery registration, automobile licensing, and labor inspections, amongst others.

“These signposts demystify authorities processes, scale back confusion, enhance service supply, and most significantly, empower residents with information of their rights and entitlements,” Ms. Coker added.

The Consortium encourages residents to make use of the indicators as instruments for civic engagement and to carry service suppliers accountable. “These providers are right here for you, and the County Service Heart exists to serve your wants,” the Consortium said.

This public data effort helps one of many venture’s key targets: growing civil society oversight of equitable income sharing between central and native authorities, an important element of accountable governance in Liberia.
