CHICAGO — Bobby Jenks, a two-time All-Star nearer and World Collection champion with the Chicago White Sox, has died, the group introduced Saturday. He was 44.
The White Sox mentioned Jenks died Friday in Sintra, Portugal, the place he was being handled for adenocarcinoma, a type of abdomen most cancers.
Jenks helped the White Sox win the 2005 World Series, saving 4 video games in six appearances throughout the postseason. He was an All-Star in every of the following two seasons whereas saving 41 video games in 2006 and 40 in 2007.
He retired 41 consecutive batters in 2007, matching a file for a reliever.
