    Liberia: Boakai Declares Liberia “In Better Shape” as He Unveils Aggressive Legislative Push in Third SONA

    CAPITOL HILL, Monrovia — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai says Liberia is in a stronger place in the present day than it was a 12 months in the past, citing progress throughout key sectors and vowing to press forward with sweeping legislative and governance reforms.

    Delivering his third State of the Nation Deal with (SONA)—referred to by the Structure because the President’s Annual Message—within the courtyard of the Capitol Constructing on Monday, President Boakai instructed lawmakers that regardless of inherited challenges and restricted sources, his administration has stabilized the financial system and recorded tangible improvement features.

    Progress, ARREST Agenda, and Legislative Priorities

    President Boakai stated his administration has made advances in agriculture, infrastructure, training, well being, tourism, and the rule of regulation, whereas persevering with implementation of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Improvement, aimed toward bettering livelihoods, strengthening democratic governance, and enhancing Liberia’s world standing.

    Warning on Pending Payments

    Whereas commending lawmakers for previous achievements, President Boakai warned that delays in passing important pending laws may undermine reform efforts.

    Anti-Corruption, Well being, Roads, and Governance Reforms

    The President disclosed that his administration has submitted 4 amendments to present anti-corruption legal guidelines, together with proposals focusing on illicit enrichment and the removing of the statute of limitations on corruption instances.

    President Boakai emphasised continued cooperation among the many three branches of presidency, stressing that each regulation and govt motion taken has been guided by one goal: bettering the lives of Liberians.
