Abraham Quintanilla Jr., the patriarch behind one of the crucial influential Latin music households of the previous century and the daddy of late Tejano famous person Selena Quintanilla, has died. He was 86.
The information was shared Saturday, Dec. 13, by his son, music producer Abraham “A.B.” Quintanilla III, in an Instagram post honoring his father’s life.
“It’s with a heavy coronary heart to allow you to guys know that my Dad handed away in the present day,” A.B. wrote, alongside a photograph of Quintanilla Jr. set to Pedro Infante’s traditional track “Cien Años.”

Quintanilla Jr. is extensively remembered for his central function in shaping the profession of Selena, who rose to worldwide fame within the early Nineties and have become a defining voice in Tejano and Latin pop music.
