-To maintain Clear Of The Government Mansion Throughout Deliberate Protest

Monrovia, Liberia-December 12, 2025: Info Minister Jerolinmek Matthew Piah has delivered a pointy warning to the civic group STAND, telling them to maintain away from the Government Mansion throughout their deliberate “Lead or Depart” protest on December 17.

Piah firmly said that the Government Mansion “will not be a spot for demonstrations,” underscoring the federal government’s plan to implement tight safety across the presidency’s headquarters. His message alerts that authorities won’t tolerate any protest exercise in that space.

This warning comes as STAND continues to mobilize 1000’s for what it describes as a peaceable motion calling for improved governance. The rising pressure is elevating recent debate over residents’ protest rights and the bounds on public gatherings in Liberia.
