Bomi County Senior Senator Edwin M. Snowe has written to the Liberian Senate, elevating a pink flag over an alleged playing middle throughout the premises of the Liberia Broadcasting System compound, the nation’s state-owned radio and tv station.

Making a quick comment on Monday, November 11, 2025, within the Chamber of the Liberian Senate, following the studying of his communication in plenary, Senator Snowe stated that he was on a flight when he met a workforce from Ghana that knowledgeable him concerning the playing middle inside ELBC.

In keeping with him, after they instructed him, he was confused and debated whether or not the middle was outdoors or throughout the LBS compound, however they insisted it was within the LBS compound and had been given to them by LBS Administration.

‘’ I current my compliments and herewith write to convey to your esteemed consideration credible studies indicating that the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), our solely state-owned radio and tv community, has reportedly entered into an settlement with Blue Star Hello-Tech Liberia Restricted, a playing firm working in Liberia, thereby establishing a playing middle throughout the premises of the establishment. They instructed me that the Administration of LBS gave them one room contained in the compound the place they’re finishing up their playing exercise. I don’t understand how true it’s. However my letter requests that the Committee on Broadcasting and Safety conduct a plenary investigation into this matter. As a result of the man didn’t cease there, he introduced photographs to me, and I’ve shared it in our chartroom. I don’t assume we have to carry LBS to that degree to open a playing middle there. That is unacceptable, and so, I feel we should examine and do one thing about it,’ he acknowledged.

Sen. Snowe believes that the event raises critical considerations relating to the ethical standing, institutional integrity, and public picture of the nation’s premier broadcasting entity, which is financed by the Nationwide Authorities and serves as a significant platform for nationwide communication, schooling, and leisure.

‘’In view of the sensitivity of this matter, and the necessity to safeguard the integrity of the Liberia Broadcasting System, I respectfully request that Plenary mandates the Senate’s Committee on Data, Broadcasting and Cultural Affairs to conduct a full-scale investigation into the alleged settlement between LBS and stated playing firm. This matter, if left unchecked, may erode public belief in one in all our nation’s most vital communication establishments.’ He concluded.

In the meantime, the Liberian Senate, by Senate Professional-Tempore Nyonblee Kangar-Lawrence, has mandated and instructed the Committee on Broadcast and Safety to right away examine the matter and report back to the Senate this Thursday.

The investigation into allegations of gaming on the Liberia Broadcasting System comes on the time LBS Director Eugen Fhangon is at present in a foreign country in search of medical consideration.
