New York Metropolis Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani informed “Good Morning America” on Wednesday that he wouldn’t be “intimidated” by potential threats from President Donald Trump to deploy the Nationwide Guard to town.

“His threats are inevitable,” Mamdani stated. “This has nothing to do a security, it has to do with intimidation.”

“If it was security, President Trump can be threatening to the deploy the Nationwide Guard to the highest 10 states of crime, eight out of that are all Republican-led,” Mamdani added. “However due to that occasion he will not really be doing it.”

The 34-year-old democratic socialist was propelled to victory amid a file turnout in New York Metropolis. Greater than 2 million voters turned out on Tuesday — the primary time a mayoral election crossed that threshold since 1969.

Mamdani will turn into town’s youngest mayor since 1892 and the primary Muslim to carry the workplace.

This can be a creating story. Please examine again for updates.
