    PUL, Morocco Forge Partnership – The New Republic Liberia

    Monrovia – October 7,2025 – The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco have held high-level discussions targeted on strengthening cooperation to reinforce and elevate the capacity-building efforts for journalists and media professionals in Liberia.

    The assembly, held on Friday, 03 October 2025, on the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Sinkor, Monrovia, was attended by key representatives from each establishments.

    It adopted a sequence of constructive engagements between the PUL management and the Moroccan Embassy, led by Mr. Lahoucine Rahmouni, the Chargé d’Affaires, highlighting a dedication to strengthening media infrastructure and selling skilled growth.

    Through the discussions, Mr. Rahmouni briefed the PUL delegation on a variety of bilateral and funding initiatives at the moment being developed and applied by the Moroccan Authorities in Liberia.

    These span quite a few areas, together with agriculture, vitality, commerce, schooling, coaching, and digital empowerment, reflecting Morocco’s broader imaginative and prescient of South–South cooperation and African solidarity.

    In his remarks, PUL President Julius Kanubah expressed gratitude to Mr. Rahmouni for his ongoing constructive dialogue with the PUL, manifested by the Embassy’s energetic participation within the current 61st anniversary celebrations of the Press Union of Liberia, and the sustained engagement with Liberia’s media sector

    Mr. Kanubah additionally appealed for Morocco’s partnership and assist in addressing the technical, coaching and institutional capability gaps going through the Liberian media-particularly in areas of digital innovation, skilled growth, and media resilience.

    He famous that Liberia’s media continues to play a important position in strengthening democracy and accountability, stressing nonetheless that the media faces actual challenges in conserving tempo with international media transformation.

    The Kingdom of Morocco’s expertise in digital innovation and coaching presents a beneficial alternative for partnership and shared progress, the PUL President asserted.

    For his half, Mr. Rahmouni reaffirmed Morocco’s dedication to supporting Liberia’s nationwide growth priorities below the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Improvement, together with the development of media professionalism and freedom of expression.

    The discussions marked a promising step towards creating strategic partnership between the Press Union of Liberia and the Kingdom of Morocco, aimed toward advancing skilled journalism and sustainable media growth in Liberia.

    Attending the assembly alongside the PUL delegation have been, Mr. Hossain Asrouti, Counselor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to Liberia, Ms. Estelle Liberty, Chairperson of the Anniversary and Useful resource Mobilization Committee of the PUL and Mr. Edwin Clarke, Technical Advisor of the Anniversary and Useful resource Mobilization Committee of the PUL.
