The Pentagon stated two Venezuelan navy plane flew close to a U.S. Navy vessel on Thursday in worldwide waters in a “extremely provocative transfer.”

In a press release posted on the social media platform X on Thursday night time, the Protection Division wrote the transfer “was designed to intrude with our counter narco-terror operations.”

CBS Information reported earlier on Thursday that two armed Venezuelan F-16 fighters flew over the USS Jason Dunham in what U.S. officers believed was a present of pressure.

The transfer got here after President Donald Trump announced earlier this week he had ordered U.S. navy forces to strike a vessel within the Caribbean Sea that he stated was carrying suspected Tren de Aragua drug smugglers, killing 11 folks.

The assertion from the Pentagon on Thursday went on to say: “The cartel operating Venezuela is strongly suggested to not pursue any additional effort to hinder, deter or intrude with counter-narcotics and counter-terror operations carried out by the US navy.”

The Navy not too long ago deployed eight ships to the Caribbean and Pacific Ocean.
