    Liberia: Protesters Threaten to Burn Down Police Station Over Death of Motorcyclist; Lawmaker Intervenes

    GANTA, Nimba County – Stress has engulfed town of Ganta after the physique of 22-year-old Jackson Roland was found in District #8, sparking indignant protests from motorcyclists who blocked main roads and threatened to burn down the native police station.

    Based on eyewitnesses and stories gathered by FrontPage Africa, Roland’s physique was found close to the CMC Junction in District #8. In protest, scores of motorcyclists staged demonstrations, blocking key highways together with the Ganta-Bong County street, Ganta-Saclepea street, and the Sanniquellie freeway. The blockade disrupted site visitors to and from Monrovia, Saclepea, Sanniquellie, and even neighboring Guinea and Ivory Coast.

    Protest Turns Violent

    The demonstration started peacefully as motorcyclists carried Roland’s physique from the Ganta United Methodist Hospital to the native police station, chanting slogans and holding placards demanding justice.
