Monrovia – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Company (LDEA) has suspended its Chief of Operations, Abraham O. Payne (U-704), after an audio recording surfaced allegedly implicating him in ordering the discharge of his daughter who was reportedly arrested in a ghetto.

Within the leaked recording, Mr. Payne is allegedly heard instructing a junior officer to free his daughter and threatening the officer after he refused to conform.

LDEA Director Basic Anthony Ok. Souh confirmed the suspension on Tuesday, saying Mr. Payne has been referred to the Board of Inner Inquiry and Skilled Requirements (BIIPS) for investigation.

“The LDEA frowns upon such alleged actions which, if confirmed, undermine the integrity of the Company and compromise the combat in opposition to illicit medication,” the company mentioned in an announcement.

The Company has additionally suggested the general public and all stakeholders to chorus from conducting any official enterprise with Mr. Payne till the probe is concluded.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance coverage on misconduct, the LDEA assured that no officer, no matter place or rank, is above the legislation.
