Monrovia- The Business Courtroom on the Temple of Justice has ordered the seizure and sale of properties belonging to the Nationwide Elections Fee (NEC) in a bid to fulfill a judgment debt of US$171,105.00 owed to M-TOSH Prints Media, Inc.

The order, contained in a writ of execution issued below the signature of Affiliate Decide Chan-Chan A. Paegar and Clerk J. Amos F. Gbowah, mandates Performing Sheriff Emmanuel Morris to maneuver in opposition to the property of the elections physique, represented by its Chairperson, Mrs. Davidetta Brown-Lansanah, and the Board of Commissioners.

The writ directs the Sheriff to “seize and expose on the market the land, items and chattels” of NEC to lift the cash owed. If movable property can not cowl the quantity, the courtroom ordered the seizure of NEC’s actual properties.

In a hanging portion of the order, the writ warns that if no property are discovered, the Sheriff should convey the “residing physique” of NEC Chairperson Lansanah, the Board of Commissioners, and different approved officers earlier than the Business Courtroom to be handled in accordance with regulation.

The case stems from an motion of debt filed by M-TOSH Prints Media, Inc., represented by Mr. Varney A. Fahnbulleh, which led to the courtroom’s ruling in favor of the non-public printing firm.

The NEC, Liberia’s electoral physique answerable for conducting nationwide elections, now faces the humiliation of a public asset seizure — or, failing that, the direct look of its Chairperson and prime officers earlier than the bench.

The writ, issued on August 12, 2025, underscores the judiciary’s rising impatience with authorities establishments failing to honor contractual and monetary obligations to non-public companies.

The event raises critical questions concerning the NEC’s monetary administration, accountability, and credibility, particularly because the establishment stays central to Liberia’s democratic governance.

Briefly response, NEC Chairperson, Lansanah, who arrived after the Sheriff have left, mentioned that she has to seek the advice of the authorized division of the establishment to find out whether or not the character of the seizure.
