    Liberia: Protest Coalition Sets December 17 for Nationwide Resistance After 14-Day Ultimatum and U.S. Rights Report

    Morlu’s declaration follows the discharge of the 2024 U.S. State Division Human Rights Report, which he stated confirms the federal government’s failure to deal with systemic human rights violations, entrenched corruption, and public sector impunity.

    He condemned the President’s current international journey to Japan with what he described as an unnecessarily massive entourage, calling it a misuse of taxpayer funds at a time when the nation is grappling with rising costs, a crumbling healthcare system, and excessive unemployment.

    Based on Morlu, the U.S. report outlines abuses that embrace extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, torture, extended detentions, and censorship of the press, amongst others.
