Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Friday, August 8, led members of his Cupboard to the Ghanaian Embassy in Congo City to signal the Guide of Condolence for high-ranking Ghanaian officers who died in a navy helicopter crash in Ghana’s Ashanti Area on August 6.

The Liberian chief expressed “deepest sympathies” to Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, the bereaved households, and the folks of Ghana, describing the tragedy as “a nationwide loss felt throughout our shared West African household.”

Among the many deceased have been Protection Minister Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Atmosphere Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Performing Deputy Nationwide Safety Coordinator Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru, Nationwide Democratic Congress Vice Chair Dr. Samuel Sarpong, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, and three Ghana Armed Forces crew members — Squadron Chief Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

President Boakai recalled that Minister Boamah had attended Liberia’s 178th Independence Day celebrations simply days earlier, bringing “heat, solidarity, and the spirit of African brotherhood” to the occasion.

“We stand shoulder to shoulder with Ghana on this time of grief. We be a part of you in honoring the recollections of those devoted public servants. Their sacrifices is not going to be forgotten,” Boakai stated.
