    Liberia: Ex-President Weah Extends Condolences to Ghana Over Fatal Helicopter Crash Involving Top Officials

    In a press release issued by his Chief of Employees, Lenn Eugene Nagbe, the previous president described the loss as “profound” and expressed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved households.

    Rehab, Monrovia – Former Liberian President George M. Weah has prolonged heartfelt condolences to the federal government and folks of Ghana following Wednesday’s tragic navy helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight people, together with two senior authorities ministers.

    In a press release issued by his Chief of Employees, Lenn Eugene Nagbe, the previous president described the loss as “profound” and expressed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved households.

    “President Weah stands with the individuals of Ghana in prayers and solidarity throughout this troublesome time. He urges them to seek out energy and luxury within the Lord as they mourn this nationwide tragedy,” the assertion mentioned.

    Among the many victims of the crash had been Ghana’s Defence Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, and Surroundings Minister, Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, each of whom had been en path to Obuasi within the Ashanti Area when their Z-9 navy helicopter went off the radar shortly after takeoff from Accra on August 6.

    President John Dramani Mahama’s Chief of Employees described the crash as a “nationwide tragedy” and confirmed that flags throughout Ghana will fly at half-mast in honor of the deceased.

    Preliminary investigations are ongoing on the crash web site, the place pictures circulating on social media present the charred wreckage of the plane. 

    Different victims confirmed within the crash embody Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Performing Deputy Nationwide Safety Coordinator, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate, Squadron Chief Peter, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo

    President John Dramani Mahama, by means of his chief of employees, prolonged condolences to the households of the victims and paid tribute to the servicemen who died within the line of responsibility.

    The tragedy has despatched shockwaves throughout Ghana and the West African area, with tributes pouring in from regional leaders, together with Liberia’s former head of state.
