    Liberia: MOVEE Political Leader Calls for End to ‘Witch-hunt, Persecution’ on Liberia’s 178th Independence Anniversary

    In his Independence Day message, Kemayah urged the Boakai’s administration to uphold the spirit and values of the 1847 Declaration of Independence by selling unity, tolerance, and justice.

    Monrovia – As Liberia marks its 178th Independence Anniversary, Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, political chief of the Motion for Financial Empowerment (MOVEE), is looking for an finish to what he describes as “political witch-hunting and persecution.”

    In his Independence Day message, Kemayah urged the Boakai’s administration to uphold the spirit and values of the 1847 Declaration of Independence by selling unity, tolerance, and justice.

    “Let this 178th Independence Anniversary imbue in us the necessity to decide on unity over division, reconciliation over resentment, peace over chaos, constructive engagement over confrontation,” Kemayah mentioned. “We should embrace political tolerance over political intolerance, equal and neutral justice over selective justice, and real transparency and accountability over political witch-hunts.”

    Kemayah served as Liberia’s Everlasting Consultant to the United Nations and later as International Minister underneath the George Weah administration. Earlier this month, he and a number of other former officers of Weah administration had been indicted by a Montserrado County Grand Jury over alleged mismanagement of rice donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    He described the indictment as politically motivated, accusing the Boakai administration of weaponizing the justice system underneath the guise of anti-corruption.

    In an obvious reference to his indictment, Kemayah known as for adherence to the tenets of democracy and the founding beliefs embodied within the July 26, 1847 Declaration of Independence.

    “We’re of the strongest conviction that by genuinely adhering to the tenets of democracy and the beliefs and ideas that knowledgeable and characterised the July 26, 1847 Declaration of Independence; as a Authorities, nation and folks of right this moment, we are able to overcome and finish the relentless political witch-hunting, persecution due to political affiliation, injustices and different unwarranted and properly calculated avoidable adversities of right this moment and lay the muse for a brighter and extra affluent tomorrow for Liberia and the Liberian Folks,” he said.

    Addressing MOVEE partisans, Kemayah expressed gratitude for his or her continued help. He pledged to stay dedicated to the celebration’s targets and thanked supporters for standing by him, his spouse Rev. Mrs. Dialokai Golanyon-Kemayah, and their household.

    Calling for nationwide unity, Kemayah urged Liberians to make use of the Independence Day celebration as a second for sober reflection and renewed dedication to constructing a greater Liberia.

    “Could we, regardless of this era of adversity, rejoice with braveness, resilience, and hope. Let at the present time be greater than festivities—it have to be a time to mirror on how far we’ve come, the place we’re, and the way far we’re sincerely keen to go collectively as one nation, indivisible,” he mentioned.
